What do I mean when I say make your life feel more luxurious?

Well that is a great question. I have a few tips and based on where you are at in your life I think you can make one of these work for you. So before I get into some small luxurious changes that had to do with my spending more money I am going to start with the things that are more affordable. Because when I was in my early and mid-twenties and I was a full-time student and also worked 2 jobs so I was looking for affordable ways to feel good.

Tip 1: Make your morning time the most peaceful part of your day.

I know people tell everyone to enjoy there mornings and most people say "blah-blah-blah, if I had the time girl!". I don't know everyone's situation but I was serving and working until 11-2am most nights and then getting up at 5am the next day(This is not me preaching lack of sleep or my weird badge of honor!) I am just saying I understand to some extent that you got to do what you got to do. I will say on the nights when I was getting 4 hours of sleep, or less, I was kept sane by loving my coffee routine and by feeling gratitude for the smell of my latte while I sat in my robe on my couch as the morning sun poured in my window. I felt gratitude for the silent morning. So put on some of your favorite music. Brush your hair like you are a fucking princess. Stop brushing your teeth so hard that your gums recede and slow down. Find any way to enjoy your morning and bask in it.

Tip 2: Create that Clean Girl feel in your body,

I know you are probably picturing a slicked back ponytail and a girl in a lulu lemon set but that is not really what I am talking about. It is more about feeling put together. I do love a clean girl fit every now and then but I am talking about the feeling of being clean. You know how you feel greasy after a long car ride or a plane ride? Exactly, this feeling is the opposite of that plane ride ick.

So how does one create this? It is simple, it is with little habits. For me, that meant carrying a mini toothbrush in my car, altoids in my purse at all times, using gel to slick my ponytail when I did put it up, dressing in a manner that made me feel confident, wearing perfume, carrying ChapStick and Kleenex in my purse. Feeling clean and ready to talk to anyone makes you feel like a Queen.

Tip 3: Eating Healthy

Okay so here is where I suggest upscaling on quality if you are going to do it anywhere in your budget. Eating Clean makes you feel less bloated, less gassy, and healthy foods have shown to do great things for your brain chemistry. So How does one do this? I personally like eating colorful meals full of veggies. I don't necessarily think that spending every last dime to eat organic is the answer so what you can do is go to trader joes and get their vegetable spray for washing your veggies and then if you can afford it get a few nice items from whole foods.

There is something that even just feels good about shopping in a store like Whole Foods. So, if you are on a budget then maybe you get everything at Aldi's ,or wherever is the most affordable for veggies, and then you go grab a healthier dressing at whole foods or a snack with less preservatives or maybe even some fair trade chocolate. It feels good to eat good and a lot of times a better diet is reflected in your skin.

Tip 4: Habits of People That Live in Luxury

I have been blessed to be around and meet quiet a few wealthy people and there is something to be said about the habits and mannerisms they have in common especially the women. I realized this and quickly adapted these ways for myself and I can testify that they make my life feel much for luxurious.

  1. Do Not Rush: So many of you who have kids or multiple jobs might say that this is too hard but just try it. Woman that are wealthy, and yes, they have a busy schedule, take their time. They do not rush to answer someone's question, they do not rush when they are driving, and they do not rush when they eat. Why? Because their life is too damn good to not savor the moment. Treat yours the same and see how you feel.

  2. Be Confident in Yourself: I know this is easier said than done. I struggled with my confidence and undervalued myself for so long and then I found meditation and EFT tapping to rewire my subconscious. I started looking in the mirror and telling myself how beautiful I am and I felt no need to be humble. This is your life and although you should live it with kindness and purpose, you do not need to live it for anyone else. So do your hair in a way that feels sexy, smile at strangers, be flirty and laugh bodily and do the work on yourself so that you are proud to be you.

  3. Having Faith: Rihanna is a woman who has talked about this many times. Having Faith in yourself is nonnegotiable. Go after your dream and make sure you do it unapologetically and with no doubt. If you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that something is right for you then know that it can be yours. The Universe and God want you to win. Even when the current moment doesn't reflect your dream that doesn't mean it wasn't meant to be yours.

  4. Be Grateful and constantly express it: A lot of the people I have met that are wealthy all had a grace to them that others didn't. They still get their feathers rustled like the rest of us but handful of self-made millionaires I know are not complainers, or shit-talkers, stingy nor do they wait for someone else to point out how fortunate they are. They constantly are saying how grateful they are and being generous. We all have the means to be generous in our own ways whether that's to take a friend to work when their car is in the shop or to buy your friend a coffee. Show gratitude and generosity whenever you can.

Tip 5: Spoil Yourself Whenever You Can

I know everyone's situation is different and I think financial security is a part of a healthy foundation for feeling stable, but I think sometimes we all become to rigid about our spending. You don't need a reason to splurge on something you really like if you have the means. It can even be exciting to save up specifically for a luxury trip or accessory. Money and status symbols are not everything, however, a luxury purse will usually last you far longer than a fake one and buying something you want because you want to treat yourself is a great feeling. I used to feel guilty about spending money on nicer things but the way I feel in quality material that looks and feels nice is priceless. Even if you just start with a nicer but mid-tier brand like say Nordstroms or Oh Polly where you spend $150 on a top but you feel like a goddess in that top, and it last you 6 years. Would you say that is worth it? I personally would.
